Angel Yin, an LPGA pro, secured her second LPGA Tour victory at the 2025 Honda LPGA Thailand. Prior to this win, the 26-year-old American had only one victory on her resume at the 2023 Buick LPGA Shanghai. She had finished as a runner-up in big events such as the 2023 Chevron Championship and the 2024 CME Group Tour Championship. Yin held a five-shot lead heading into the final round of the tournament and managed to hold off Akie Iwai, a rookie, who challenged her with a sizzling final-round 61. Yin ultimately finished one shot ahead of Iwai at 27 under par, with Jeeno Thitikul finishing third at 21 under par.

Yin’s bogey-free Sunday round of 65 included seven birdies, allowing her to secure the victory at the 2025 Honda LPGA Thailand. Despite the comfortable lead she held, pressure from Iwai meant that Yin had to sink a clutch birdie on the 18th hole to seal the win. Her four-round total of 28 under par set a new tournament scoring record and is the lowest 72-hole score in relation to par on the LPGA Tour since Lydia Ko’s performance at the 2021 Lotte Championship. Yin expressed her nerves about playing with a five-shot lead but managed to maintain her composure and secure the victory.

With this win, Yin claimed the $255,000 winner’s check and moved to the top of the Race to the CME Globe ranking. The LPGA Tour’s Asian swing is set to continue in Singapore for the HSBC Women’s World Championship, followed by a stop in China before returning to the U.S. for the Ford Championship in Arizona on March 27. Yin’s victory at the 2025 Honda LPGA Thailand marks a significant milestone in her career as she adds another tournament victory to her resume. Her consistent play throughout the tournament and ability to maintain her composure under pressure were key factors in securing the win.

Yin’s performance at the 2025 Honda LPGA Thailand showcased her talent and potential as a top contender on the LPGA Tour. As she navigated the final round with a five-shot lead, she demonstrated her ability to control her game and stay focused under pressure. The victory at the tournament not only earned Yin a substantial financial reward but also propelled her to the top of the Race to the CME Globe ranking, further solidifying her status as a dominant player on the tour. Moving forward, Yin will look to build on this success and continue competing at a high level in upcoming tournaments on the LPGA Tour.

The competition at the 2025 Honda LPGA Thailand was fierce, with rookie Akie Iwai putting up a strong challenge to Yin’s lead with an impressive final-round performance. Despite the pressure from Iwai, Yin maintained her composure and delivered a solid performance to secure the victory. Her ability to handle the pressure of leading the tournament and make crucial shots when needed showcases her growth and development as a professional golfer. The win at the tournament is a testament to Yin’s hard work and dedication to her craft, and it further cements her status as a rising star in women’s golf.

As the LPGA Tour’s Asian swing continues, Yin will look to carry her momentum from the 2025 Honda LPGA Thailand into upcoming events in Singapore and China. With her recent win, Yin has proven that she has what it takes to compete and win at the highest level of women’s golf. Her dedication to her game and ability to perform under pressure make her a formidable opponent on the tour. Fans and fellow competitors alike will be watching closely to see how Yin continues to progress and achieve success in future tournaments.
