The Asian Tour has announced that the International Series will be held in India for the first time in 2025. The tournament is scheduled to take place from January 30 to February 2 at the DLF Golf and Country Club, which was previously the venue for the Hero Indian Open. The DP World Tour will also be making a return to India at the end of March, although the venue has not yet been confirmed. LIV Golf, the organizers of the International Series, have recently secured former tour venues such as Valderrama and El Camaleon Mayakoba.

The International Series has also held events at prestigious venues like Doha Golf Club and Al Mouj Golf in Oman. The upcoming International Series India is set to take place a week prior to the first LIV Golf League tournament of the season in Riyadh. The tournament will feature notable players from the LIV Golf league, including Indian golfing star Anirban Lahiri, who has already been confirmed to participate in the event. The Asian Tour has hinted that more big names will be announced as participants in the tournament.

Anirban Lahiri, who currently plays for the Crushers GC, is excited about the opportunity to compete in his home country. His teammate Bryson DeChambeau has also expressed interest in participating in the tournament, marking his first ever appearance in India. DeChambeau has praised the country for its rich golfing culture and expressed his eagerness to compete in front of Indian fans. The tournament is expected to draw a significant amount of attention from golf fans, both locally and internationally.

The International Series India will offer a $2 million purse and will be the inaugural event in a series of 10 tournaments lined up for 2025. The organizers have hinted at a “new-look schedule” for next year, which will feature a mix of new destinations and returning to established markets. The International Series is supported by LIV Golf, with the top-ranked player in the series standings earning a spot in the LIV Golf League at the end of the season. The competition for a coveted LIV card is heating up as players like John Catlin and Ben Campbell are aiming to surpass current leader Peter Uihlein in the rankings. The finale of the race for a LIV card will take place at the Saudi International.
