The 2024 RSM Classic is the final official event of the PGA Tour’s season, taking place in Georgia at Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside Course in St. Simons Island. The course, designed by Tom Fazio, is a par-70 layout measuring 7,005 yards. The tournament will also use the Plantation Course for the first two rounds. The event has been held at Sea Island since 2010 when it was created by Davis Love III and Zach Johnson. The purse for the event is $7.6 million, with a first-place prize of $1.368 million. This is down $400,000 from the previous year. The…
The PGA Tour Policy Board is set to vote on a number of changes that include reducing field sizes and the number of fully exempt cards available starting in 2026. Lucas Glover, a former U.S. Open champion, is strongly opposed to these changes, calling them “terrible” and questioning the reasoning behind them. He believes that reducing field sizes to address pace of play issues is not the right approach and suggests that enforcing a better pace of play policy would be more effective. Glover points out that the number of slow players on the Tour has increased significantly over the…
Odyssey has introduced the all-new Ai-ONE Square 2 Square putter line-up, expanding their premium putter offerings. The new putters come in three designs – Double Wide, Jailbird, and #7 – and feature a center-shafted design that sets them apart from the standard Ai ONE putters. The main difference lies in the placement of the center of gravity on the same plane as the shaft, resulting in a ‘zero torque’ design that prevents twisting and rotating during the stroke. Unlike traditional putters that allow the face to move in an arc, the Ai-ONE Square 2 Square putters encourage the face to…
Nelly Korda, the world’s number one women’s golfer, made a stunning comeback to win her third LPGA Annika title. After being sidelined with a neck injury since September, Korda started the final day one shot behind England’s Charley Hull at the event held at Pelican Golf Club in Florida. The tournament is named in honor of Swedish golf legend Annika Sorenstam, who has won 10 major championships throughout her career. Despite a slow start with three bogeys on the front nine, Korda turned things around with five consecutive birdies on the back nine. This impressive stretch of play helped her…
Rafael Campos has secured his first career PGA Tour win at the 2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship, solidifying his place on the Tour for the next two years. The Puerto Rican golfer finished at -19, three strokes ahead of runner-up Andrew Novak. Campos, at 36 years old, has been a professional golfer since 2011 and has faced challenges in maintaining his status on the Tour. With a 7-day-old child at home, this victory not only provides job security for Campos but also serves as an inspiring story of perseverance and determination. Despite not having the big names of the top 10…
Slow play has become a growing issue on the LPGA tour, with players and fans alike frustrated with the pace of play. Charley Hull has proposed a radical solution to address slow play, suggesting that repeat offenders should lose their tour cards instantly. While this extreme approach is unlikely to be implemented, the threat of such consequences could help deter slow play on the tour. The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican has been advocating for a smaller field for the past three years, as it can be challenging to get all 120 players around the course in a timely…
Nelly Korda’s recent victory at the Annika Driven by Gainbridge at Pelican was a special moment for her, not only because it was her seventh win of the season but also because her younger brother, tennis professional Sebastian, was there to witness her triumph. Korda put on a masterclass performance on the back nine at Pelican Golf Club in Florida, including a run of five birdies in a row, to secure her 14th LPGA Tour title, beating out competitors Charley Hull, Im Jin Hee, and Weiwei Zhang by three shots. Sebastian surprised Nelly by showing up for the last three…
Nelly Korda continues her dominance in the LPGA by winning her seventh title of the season at the ANNIKA Driven by Gainbridge at Pelican. Despite starting the final day one shot behind Charley Hull, Korda came back from a two-shot deficit on the front nine to secure a three-shot victory at 14 under par. This win marks Korda’s seventh title of the season, making her the first player since Yani Tseng in 2011 to achieve seven or more wins in a single season.
