Bubba Watson is known for his incredible ability to work the ball left and right on the golf course. During a recent session on the driving range, he demonstrated his skills to a lucky observer. Not only does he work the ball, but he also sends it and bends it as much as possible. Watson’s ball had an impressive 129 feet of left to right curve, showcasing his unique talent. This skill was evident in his iconic shot at Augusta National in 2012, where he triumphed in a playoff over Louis Oosthuizen.

During the practice session, Watson reflected on some of his most memorable shots at the Masters. The first on his Mount Rushmore of magician moments was the winning shot in 2012, a roping hook on the 10th hole during the playoff. He also mentioned a lesser-known shot from 2022, where he launched a ball from behind trees separating the 18th and 10th holes. Despite not seeing the ball land, he described it as one of the best shots of his life. Another favorite was a rope-hook shot on the 11th hole, where he had to play over a pond to reach the green.

Watson’s former caddie, Ted Scott, particularly admired his ability to execute difficult shots, such as the rope-hook on the 11th hole. Despite Scott’s reservations, Watson was confident in his shot-making abilities, emphasizing the importance of taking risks in golf. He described these shots as not being as rare as one might think, estimating them to be 1-in-10 chances rather than 1-in-100 or 1-in-1,000.

In an exclusive video for InsideGolf members, Watson breaks down the mechanics and mindset behind these incredible shots. He also shares insights into a muddy, ridiculous wedge shot he played during his triumphant march to victory in 2012. This in-depth analysis provides golf enthusiasts with a rare glimpse into the strategic thinking and technical skill required to execute such daring shots on the course.

Watson’s willingness to take risks and push the boundaries of traditional shot-making has made him a fan favorite on the PGA Tour. His ability to bend the ball to his will and create magical moments on the golf course has set him apart as a truly unique talent. Whether it’s a rope-hook from the pinestraw or a shot from behind trees, Watson’s creativity and fearlessness have endeared him to audiences worldwide. Golf fans eagerly await his next mesmerizing display of shot-making genius at the Masters and beyond.

As Watson continues to hone his craft and refine his skills on the course, his legacy as one of the game’s great shot-makers is secure. His Mount Rushmore of magician moments at the Masters will stand as a testament to his extraordinary talent and unwavering passion for the game. Whether he’s hitting balls on the driving range or competing in a major championship, Bubba Watson’s artistry and flair for the dramatic make him a true legend in the world of golf.
