Charley Hull finishes strong with a 65 in Malaysia, sets sights on Saudi Arabia

Charley Hull made a triumphant return to action in Malaysia after taking a month off and finished in style at the Maybank Championship. The English player closed with a spectacular bogey-free 65, thanks to a back-nine 30 that included four consecutive birdies on Sunday over holes 11-14 at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club. Despite her impressive performance, Hull felt like she could have done even better, mentioning that she missed a few putts and left some shots out on the course.

Hull’s strong showing in Malaysia is part of a consistent stretch of form she has enjoyed since injuring her right shoulder in July after slipping in the shower. In her last five starts on the LPGA Tour, she has not finished outside the top 20, including an emphatic 6-and-4 victory over Nelly Korda in Sunday singles at the Solheim Cup. Following a T-19 finish at the Kroger Queen City event in September, Hull took some time off to recharge in her home country of England.

The importance of being home is evident in Hull’s comments, as she expressed her love for being in England, spending time with her boyfriend, and feeling homesick when she is away. Despite her upcoming commitments in Saudi Arabia and the United States, Hull is looking forward to returning home for a week after the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF event in Riyadh. She is scheduled to compete in the Tour Championship in Naples, Florida, and is excited to spend Christmas at home with her loved ones.

As a Golf Saudi ambassador, Hull will take part in the upcoming event at Riyadh Golf Club before heading to the U.S. for the final two tournaments in Florida. The Tour Championship holds a special place in her heart, as she won the event back in 2016 and enjoys playing at The Annika’s Pelican Golf Club in Belleair the week before. With a busy schedule ahead, Hull is looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead on the golf course. She is determined to maintain her strong form and continue to compete at the highest level in the sport.

Overall, Charley Hull’s return to action at the Maybank Championship showcased her talent and determination to succeed on the golf course. Her consistent performances and love for her home country demonstrate her commitment to the sport and her desire to continue improving. As she prepares for upcoming events in Saudi Arabia and the United States, fans can expect to see more exciting moments from this talented English golfer as she competes against the best in the world. Hull’s journey in professional golf is filled with ups and downs, but her resilience and dedication to her craft are what set her apart as a true champion in the sport.
