AJ Ott, a Fort Collins native and former Colorado State men’s golf standout, is making his debut at the Korn Ferry Tour tournament in The Ascendant at TPC Colorado. Ott’s familiarity with the course, having played over 70 rounds there during his college career, helped him secure a spot in the tournament through a competitive qualifying event. Despite facing tough conditions in the first round, Ott managed to hold his own and draw a significant crowd of supporters as he navigated the course.

Having excelled in high school and college golf in Colorado, Ott is now focused on making a name for himself in the professional ranks. He has been grinding on mini-tours across the country, staying true to his love for the sport and constantly seeking improvement. Ott often travels with his friend and fellow pro golfer Jackson Solem, relying on a team of coaches and advisors to help him refine his game.

Recently, Ott clinched a victory at the San Juan Open, showcasing his potential to compete at a higher level. The experience of playing against top-level professionals at The Ascendant has been both thrilling and humbling for Ott, who sees it as an opportunity to learn from the best in the game. While the pressure of performing well is always present, Ott remains grateful for the chance to showcase his skills close to home and enjoy the familiar comforts of Fort Collins during the tournament.

As Ott continues to pursue his dream of playing on the PGA Tour, he remains committed to the grind of professional golf, with its long hours on the road and countless tournaments. His success at the San Juan Open and his performance at The Ascendant are testaments to his dedication and skill as a golfer. While the road ahead may be challenging, Ott’s love for the game and unwavering determination drive him to push himself to new heights in his career.

In conclusion, AJ Ott’s journey from local golf standout to aspiring professional golfer is a testament to his passion for the sport and his relentless pursuit of success. The experience of competing on the Korn Ferry Tour has been a valuable learning opportunity for Ott, who remains focused on honing his skills and striving for excellence in every tournament. With his eyes set on the PGA Tour, Ott continues to chase his dreams with unwavering dedication and a deep appreciation for the support of his family, friends, and fans.
