Captain Gwladys Nocera has officially announced the 12 girls who will be representing Team Europe at the 2024 PING Junior Solheim Cup. This prestigious tournament is scheduled to take place at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia on the 9th and 10th of September. Following the conclusion of the European Ladies’ Amateur Championship, the top six ranked players eligible for selection were confirmed for the team as they prepare for an away trip to Virginia. Team Europe will be aiming for a hat-trick of wins after defeating USA 15-9 at La Zagaleta, Spain in the previous edition of the tournament.

Spain’s Andrea Revuelta led the standings with 155.00 points, having previously won the Spanish International Ladies Amateur Championship. She is currently ranked 11th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and will be the most senior player in the squad at the age of 18. Joining her is rising star Louise Landgraf from France, who qualified in second position with 153.94 points. Landgraf made history in 2023 as the youngest player to win on the LET Access Series at just 14 years old. Alongside her, three French compatriots will be making their PJSC debuts at Army Navy Country Club, including Sara Brentcheneff, Alice Kong, and Lily Reitter.

Denmark’s Victoria Kristensen secured the final automatic qualifying spot with 85 points, rounding out the six players automatically selected for Team Europe. The remaining six spots were filled by captain’s picks from Captain Nocera and vice-captain Dewi Claire Schreefel. Denmark’s Benedicte Brent Buchholz, Sweden’s Molly Rålin and Havanna Torstensson, as well as Italy’s Paris Appendino, Spain’s Martina Navarra Navarro, and Iceland’s Perla Sol Sigurbrandsdottir were selected as the Captain’s picks based on their performances in PJSC rankings and other amateur events.

Captain Nocera expressed her excitement to lead the PING Junior Solheim Cup Team for the second time in a row, this time in America alongside vice-captain Dewi Claire. She expressed pride in the team and emphasized the importance of representing Europe and adhering to its values. The team is described as impressive and full of surprises, with Nocera expressing eagerness to compete and fight alongside them. The girls are ready to give their best and showcase their skills on the international stage.

The Team Europe line-up includes a mix of experienced players and young talents, with a strong representation from countries such as Spain, France, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, and Iceland. The players have already achieved success in various amateur events and are prepared to face Team USA in the upcoming PING Junior Solheim Cup. With the goal of securing a third consecutive victory, Team Europe is determined to showcase their skills and passion for the game on the prestigious stage of the Army Navy Country Club. Allez! Let’s go Europe!
