Carlos Ortiz continued to prove his love for the city of Houston by winning the 2024 LIV Golf Houston event with a final round score of 5-under 67, finishing at 15 under for the tournament. He edged out Adrian Meronk by one shot in a thrilling final round battle. The two started the day tied for the lead and remained neck and neck until the par-5 15th hole, where Ortiz made birdie and Meronk made bogey, resulting in a crucial two-shot swing in Ortiz’s favor.

This victory marks Ortiz’s first LIV Golf win of his career, adding to his previous professional win at the Asian Tour’s International Series Oman in February. It also represents his second professional win in the city of Houston, with his first coming at the PGA Tour’s 2020 Vivint Houston Open. Despite his success on the course, Ortiz remains humble and grateful for the opportunity to compete at the highest level of professional golf.

In addition to Ortiz’s individual victory, Cleeks GC emerged as the team champion at 33 under, securing their first team title in the process. Smash GC and Fireballs GC tied for second place at 31 under, showcasing the competitive nature of the team aspect of the LIV Golf events. The strong performance by Cleeks GC further solidifies their status as a formidable force in the LIV Golf team competition.

Looking ahead, the LIV Golf circuit will head to Nashville for the next event at The Grove in two weeks. Meanwhile, Adrian Meronk will be one of the 12 LIV Golf players competing in the prestigious 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2 next week, highlighting the elite level of competition and talent within the LIV Golf organization. With each event, LIV Golf continues to showcase exciting golf action and provide opportunities for players to compete on a global stage.

Overall, Carlos Ortiz’s thrilling victory at the 2024 LIV Golf Houston event not only cements his status as a rising star in professional golf but also reinforces his affection for the city of Houston. His resilience and determination on the course have been key factors in his success, and his ability to perform under pressure sets him apart from his competitors. As LIV Golf continues to grow and expand its reach, fans can expect more thrilling moments and captivating performances from players like Ortiz and Meronk, who are leading the charge in the next generation of golf. Ultimately, the future looks bright for LIV Golf and its roster of talented players as they continue to make their mark on the sport.
