The third annual Bridges Cup is currently underway at Haesley Nine Bridges in Korea, with the U.S. team holding a narrow 10-8 advantage over their International counterparts. The competition will culminate in a singles showdown on Wednesday to determine the winner of the prestigious cup. The Americans took an early lead with a dominant performance in the opening four-ball matches, but the International squad fought back in the afternoon to narrow the gap to 6-4.

On Tuesday, 10 more points were up for grabs, with six four-ball matches in the morning and four foursomes matches in the afternoon. The matches were closely contested, with both sides splitting the morning four-ball sessions 3-3. In the afternoon, only two matches were completed before darkness suspended play, with each side winning one. The outcome of these still-to-be-finished matches will be crucial to the final result of the Bridges Cup.

The International team, seeking its first victory in the event after falling to the Americans in 2022 and 2023, was boosted by standout performances from Irish duo Hugh Foley and Matthew McClean on Tuesday. Foley and McClean won their four-ball and foursomes matches convincingly, contributing valuable points to the International team’s total score. American players Taylor Wood and Scott Anderson also delivered a dominant performance in the foursomes session, posting a 7-and-6 victory over their opponents.

Day 3 of the Bridges Cup will feature the remaining foursomes matches and 12 singles matches, with 30 total points up for grabs over the three days of competition. The U.S. team needs 15 points to retain the Cup, while the Internationals need 15.5 points to claim victory. The outcome of the still-to-be-finished matches from Day 2 will be crucial in determining which team will emerge victorious in this year’s Bridges Cup.

As the action unfolds on the course, golf fans can follow the full results and live scoring from the 2024 Bridges Cup online. The competition features a total of 24 players, each representing their respective teams in a series of matches aimed at determining the champion team. The event is closely watched by fans and commentators alike, with golf professional Simon Holmes providing insights into the players’ performances and strategies throughout the tournament.

Overall, the Bridges Cup is shaping up to be a closely contested battle between the U.S. and International teams, with both sides demonstrating impressive talent and determination on the course. The outcome of the tournament will not only determine this year’s champion but also showcase the skill and sportsmanship of the participating players. Golf enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting conclusion to the Bridges Cup as the singles session on Wednesday promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the prestigious event.
