The Grayson Murray Foundation, a non-profit charity named after the late PGA Tour professional, aims to provide support for individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges in their everyday lives. Launched by Murray’s parents, Eric and Terry, the foundation seeks to honor Murray’s legacy of compassion, resilience, and hope by creating a noticeable impact on mental health and addiction care. The foundation, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, plans to achieve this by supporting innovative research, expanding access to essential services, and fostering a culture of understanding inspired by Murray’s own struggles and experiences.

Managed by Murray’s family and long-time team members, the Grayson Murray Foundation’s board of directors includes Terry as treasurer, Erica Robinson as secretary, Kevin Canning as vice president, and Jeff Maness as president. The foundation’s mission is rooted in Murray’s desire to help others, as he regularly used his platform as a professional golfer to share his own mental health challenges and inspire those in need. The foundation aims to continue Murray’s generosity and unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of others, as he did during his career as a seven-time professional winner.

Following Murray’s passing in May 2024, stories began to emerge about his kindness, generosity, and constant desire to help others. These traits are what the Grayson Murray Foundation strives to embody and maintain moving forward. Eric and Terry Murray emphasized the importance of compassion and kindness in honoring their son’s memory, encouraging others to lift each other up and support those in need. Family friend Jeff Maness shared that it was Murray’s dream to establish a nonprofit organization that would offer financial and other supportive resources to individuals facing mental health or addiction challenges, as he had witnessed firsthand the difficulties in seeking help.

Maness revealed that Murray was determined to use his position as a PGA Tour player to help others in need, and through the Grayson Murray Foundation, that mission continues. The foundation’s goal is to help those who want to be helped but may lack the necessary financial resources or access to support services. By carrying forward Murray’s vision and dedication to supporting mental health and addiction causes, the Grayson Murray Foundation aims to make a lasting impact on individuals and communities facing these challenges. As a tribute to Murray’s legacy and his commitment to helping others, the foundation is dedicated to providing resources, funding research, and promoting understanding and compassion in the realm of mental health and addiction care.
