In 2015, at the Wyndham Championship, Davis Love III made history by becoming the third-oldest winner in PGA Tour history at the age of 51. His final-round performance of 64 showcased his skill and determination on the course. Love’s bag of clubs from nine years ago in North Carolina provides insight into the equipment he used during this impressive victory.

The driver in Love’s bag was the TaylorMade SLDR 460 with 9 degrees of loft. Paired with a Mitsubishi Diamana D+ 82 X shaft, this club provided the power and accuracy needed off the tee. Love also carried a TaylorMade RocketBallz Stage 2 Tour 3-wood with 13 degrees of loft and a Mitsubishi Fubuki K 80X shaft, offering him versatility for longer approach shots.

For his driving iron, Love relied on a Mizuno Fli-Hi 2 with a True Temper Dynamic Gold AMT Tour Issue X100 shaft. His iron set consisted of a Ping S55 3-iron and Titleist MB 714 4-9 irons with True Temper Dynamic Gold AMT Tour Issue X100 shafts. These clubs gave Love the precision and control needed for his iron play on the course.

In terms of wedges, Love carried a Titleist Vokey SM4 50-degree wedge, a Titleist Vokey 400 Series Prototype 56-degree wedge, and a Titleist Vokey 2014 Prototype 60-degree wedge. Each wedge was equipped with True Temper Dynamic Gold AMT Tour Issue X100 or Dynamic Gold X100 Tour Issue shafts, allowing Love to execute a variety of short game shots with confidence.

Love’s putter of choice was the Scotty Cameron Tour Rat Prototype, a club that provided him with the feel and consistency needed on the greens. Finally, Love played with the Bridgestone Tour B330 golf ball, a high-performance ball that offered him the distance and control necessary for his game.

Overall, Love’s bag of clubs from the 2015 Wyndham Championship showcased his strategic approach to equipment selection and highlighted the tools that helped him achieve success on the PGA Tour. By understanding the clubs he used during this historic victory, golf enthusiasts can gain insight into the importance of equipment choices for professional players in achieving their goals on the course.
