The 43rd Curtis Cup Match took place at Sunningdale Golf Club in England, where Great Britain & Ireland celebrated their first win in the biennial competition since 2016. This historic victory came after a dramatic finish with Team GB&I needing only 3.5 points to secure the win in the final day’s singles matches. The event, which features the best female amateurs from the United States and Great Britain & Ireland, includes three foursomes, three four-ball matches, and eight singles matches on the last day.

The singles matches on Sunday saw an intense battle between the American and GB&I teams, with several exciting victories on both sides. American Jasmine Koo secured a much-needed point for Team USA, while Great Britain & Ireland’s Lorna McClymont sealed the victory with a string of birdies that allowed her to go 3-up on No. 13. McClymont’s match against Megan Schofill was the turning point, with Mimi Rhodes’ half-point against American Melanie Green being the clincher for GB&I. The final tally was 10.5-9.5 in favor of Great Britain & Ireland.

The record attendance of more than 16,680 spectators at this year’s Curtis Cup Match demonstrates the growing popularity and support for women’s amateur golf. The event was captained by two-time Solheim Cup captain Catriona Matthew for Team GB&I and four-time U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur champion Meghan Stasi for Team USA. The success of this year’s event sets the stage for the 44th Curtis Cup, which is scheduled to be played at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles, California, from June 12-14, 2026.
