Guide to Watching Golf: TV Coverage, Streaming Options, and Tee Times

The 2025 PGA Tour season is set to kick off this week in Hawaii with The Sentry, a prestigious Signature Event on the Tour schedule. The tournament will take place at the Plantation Course at Kapalua Golf Club in Kapalua, Hawaii, featuring a field of 60 of the game’s top players. While World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will not be in attendance due to an injury, the field still boasts top-ranked players such as Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Aberg, Hideki Matsuyama, Wyndham Clark, and Viktor Hovland, among others. The tournament also includes five players who won multiple times last season, making it a highly anticipated event for golf fans.

Chris Kirk is the defending champion of The Sentry, and he will be looking to defend his title against a competitive field of past winners and top-ranked players. The tournament offers a purse of $20 million, with the winner set to take home $3.6 million. The event will take place from Thursday, Jan. 2 to Sunday, Jan. 5, with TV coverage provided by Golf Channel and NBC/Peacock. Viewers can catch the action live on TV or stream it online through platforms like ESPN+ and Peacock. ESPN+ will offer exclusive featured group coverage throughout the tournament, while Peacock will provide simulcasts of Golf Channel’s TV coverage.

The Sentry is the first of eight Signature Events on the PGA Tour schedule, showcasing some of the best players in the world competing for a significant purse and valuable FedEx Cup points. The tournament presents an opportunity for players to kick off the new season on a high note and set the tone for the rest of the year. With a field consisting of top-ranked players and past champions, The Sentry promises to be an exciting and competitive event that golf fans won’t want to miss.

Viewers can tune in to watch The Sentry on TV or online, with coverage available on Golf Channel, NBC, Peacock, and ESPN+. The tournament will feature tee times for all four rounds, with players battling it out on the picturesque Plantation Course at Kapalua, Maui. The event offers a unique opportunity for fans to witness the world’s best golfers competing in a stunning setting, surrounded by the natural beauty of Hawaii.
