Dustin Johnson, also known as DJ, achieved a significant victory seven years ago when he won the FedEx St. Jude Championship after beating Jordan Spieth in a playoff. DJ’s triumph showcased his skill and determination on the golf course. Let’s take a closer look at the equipment he used during that memorable tournament.

One of the key pieces of DJ’s gear is his driver, the TaylorMade M1 2017, set at 10.5 degrees. It is paired with a Fujikura Speeder Evolution 2.0 Tour Spec 661 X shaft, measuring 45.75 inches and tipped 1 inch. This combination allows DJ to have control and power off the tee, essential for the long holes on the golf course. His 3-wood and 5-wood are both TaylorMade M1 models, each with a Project X HZRDUS Black 6.5 shaft, providing him with versatility and distance in his fairway shots.

For his irons, DJ relies on the TaylorMade Tour Preferred MB ’14 set from 3-PW. These irons are paired with Project X HZRDUS Black 6.5 and True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts, offering him precision and accuracy in his approach shots and around the greens. DJ’s wedge setup includes the TaylorMade Milled Grind wedges in 52 and 60 degrees, with a KBS Tour Wedge 130X Black Nickel shaft, allowing him to execute various short game shots with ease.

In terms of putting, DJ uses the TaylorMade TP Collection Juno putter, which is 35.75 inches long with a loft of 2.5 degrees and a lie angle of 69 degrees. This putter setup enables DJ to have a consistent stroke on the greens, crucial for sinking those crucial putts to win tournaments. To complete his equipment lineup, DJ plays with the TaylorMade TP5x golf ball, a high-performance ball that provides him with the necessary spin and control around the golf course.

Overall, DJ’s gear setup is a combination of power, precision, and consistency, allowing him to compete at the highest level of professional golf. His attention to detail in selecting the right equipment for each shot demonstrates his commitment to excellence on the course. By understanding the importance of having the right tools for the job, DJ ensures that he is always prepared to face the challenges of tournament play and come out on top, as he did in the FedEx St. Jude Championship seven years ago.
