The Player Impact Program (PIP), introduced by the PGA Tour, aimed to reward players who had the most significant impact on the PGA Tour business each season. After four seasons, the PIP is being replaced by the Player Equity Program (PEP). Over the four years of the PIP, a total of $290 million was distributed to players on the PGA Tour circuit. In 2021, $40 million was divided among 10 players, while 23 members shared a $100 million pot in 2022. In 2023, $100 million was again shared among 20 players, and in 2024, the final amount was $50 million, with 10 individuals receiving a share.

The criteria for determining PIP winners include internet searches, earned media, TV sponsor exposure, general population awareness, and golf fan awareness. Tiger Woods topped the overall standings in three of the four PIP seasons, earning a total of $45 million. Rory McIlroy finished second in overall earnings from the PIP, collecting $35 million, followed by Jordan Spieth with $24 million. Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth were among four golfers who consistently ranked in the top 10 of the PIP each year.

The PIP has now been replaced by the PEP, offering a $100 million grant from 2025 to 2030. The grant will be divided among approximately 20 top performers each year based on their performance over the past three years, as well as specific measurement criteria used in the PIP. Tiger Woods emerged as the top earner in the 2024 PIP, followed by Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, and Jordan Spieth in the top five positions.

In the 2023 PIP, Rory McIlroy took the top spot, followed by Tiger Woods, Jon Rahm, Jordan Spieth, and Scottie Scheffler. Tiger Woods also led the way in the 2022 PIP, with Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and Jon Rahm rounding out the top five. The 2021 PIP saw Tiger Woods on top again, followed by Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, and Bryson DeChambeau in the top five positions. The PEP aims to continue rewarding players based on their impact on the PGA Tour business and their performance over the years.
