In 2024, a total of 15 amateurs made 21 cuts on the PGA Tour, showcasing their talent on a professional stage. Luke Clanton, a golfer from Florida State, led the way by making cuts at six different events and achieving two top 5 finishes. Neal Shipley also stood out by making two cuts at major tournaments, the Masters and the U.S. Open. However, Nick Dunlap stole the show by securing a victory at the American Express in January, making him one of the rare amateurs to win a PGA Tour event. Later, Dunlap went on to win the Barracuda Championship as a professional.

Although amateurs do not receive prize money for making cuts or winning on the PGA Tour, if they were eligible to collect the earnings based on their finishing positions, they would have accumulated a total of $3,587,530. Dunlap’s winnings at the American Express alone would have been worth $1.512 million, showcasing the potential financial gains for these talented amateurs. Clanton’s tie for second place at the John Deere event would have fetched him $712,000, with a potential total of $1,346,313 if he had been able to cash in on all six of his finishes.

The list of amateurs who made cuts on the PGA Tour in 2024 includes some impressive performances at various events. For example, Santiago De La Fuente finished tied for 46th at the Mexico Open, potentially earning $25,515. Jackson Van Paris placed 10th at the Puerto Rico Open, with a potential prize of $93,000. Shipley achieved a tie for 53rd at the Masters, which could have earned him $46,800. Kris Kim finished 65th at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson with a potential payout of $20,425, showcasing the diverse range of talent among these amateur golfers.

The amateurs who made cuts on the PGA Tour in 2024 showcased their skills at prestigious events such as the U.S. Open and the British Open. Clanton’s performances at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, Wyndham Championship, and Procore Championship earned him potential earnings of $323,900, $206,233, and $14,475, respectively. Additionally, Ian Gilligan finished tied for 16th at the Shriners Children’s Open with a potential prize of $103,250, demonstrating the consistency and talent of these young amateur golfers.

Overall, the performances of amateurs such as Luke Clanton, Neal Shipley, and Nick Dunlap on the PGA Tour in 2024 highlighted their potential and talent in the world of professional golf. With impressive finishes, including victories and top 5 placements, these young golfers have proven that they have what it takes to compete at the highest level. As they continue to hone their skills and gain experience, it will be exciting to see how they progress in their professional careers and potentially become the future stars of the PGA Tour.
