Korn Ferry Tour Player Achieves Rare Hole-In-One on Par 4

The Korn Ferry Tour’s The Ascendant event at TPC Colorado witnessed a historic moment as Timmy Crawford achieved a hole-in-one on a par 4, making him only the second player to do so in the Tour’s history. Crawford, a former University of Illinois player, qualified for the tournament on Monday and impressed with rounds of 66 and 73 to make the cut on his Korn Ferry Tour debut. His incredible ace on the 336-yard third hole drew praise from spectators, with local Steven Johnson describing it as the best golf shot he had ever seen.

Crawford’s hole-in-one was the first on the Korn Ferry Tour in 12 years, with the last one being by Rob Oppenheim during the final round of the Korn Ferry Tour Championship. Following the ace, Crawford continued his good form by birdieing the fifth hole and posting a four-under 32 on the front nine. Despite starting the day six shots back from the leaders, Peter Kuest and Matt McCarty, Crawford’s strong play put him in contention for Moving Day.

The TPC Colorado course posed a unique challenge to the players with its length of over 8,000 yards, including a 773-yard par 5. Situated at over 5,000 feet above sea level, the altitude allowed the ball to travel further, making for some impressive shot-making opportunities. The tournament saw a mix of experienced professionals and up-and-coming talents vying for the top spot on the leaderboard.
