Luke Clanton, a rising star in the world of golf, recently won the U.S. Amateur Championship with a set of clubs that he praises for their versatility and performance on the course. His driver of choice is the Titleist TSR2 with an 8-degree loft and B1 SureFit setting, paired with a Mitsubishi Kai’li White 70 TX shaft. For his mini driver, Clanton uses the TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver with a 13.5-degree loft and a Project X HZRDUS Black 70 TX shaft. Additionally, he relies on the TaylorMade Stealth UDI driving iron with a 2-iron, fitted with a Fujikura Ventus Black HB 10 TX shaft.

Clanton opts for a mixed set of TaylorMade irons, including the P770 (3 iron), P760 (4-6 iron), and P7MB (7-9 iron). These irons are equipped with Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 130 X shafts, providing the ideal combination of feel and forgiveness for his game. For his wedges, Clanton trusts the TaylorMade MG4 series in 46, 50, 54, and 58 degrees, with Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 Tour 125 X shafts to ensure precision and control around the greens. Completing his setup is the TaylorMade Spider GT putter, a popular choice among professional golfers for its stability and alignment features.

When asked about his iron setup, Clanton explains his preference for blade irons with the lower clubs to give him more feel and control around the greens. With the higher irons, he values forgiveness and consistency, especially on longer shots. This balance in his iron selection allows him to tailor his shots to varying distances and playing conditions, giving him the confidence to execute his game plan effectively. Furthermore, Clanton highlights the versatility and reliability of his TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver, which has become his favorite club in the bag due to its performance off the tee and from the fairway.

Reflecting on his experience with the TaylorMade BRNR Mini Driver, Clanton recounts the moment he first introduced it into his bag at Cherry Hills for the U.S. Amateur Championship. The club instantly impressed him with its distance and accuracy, leading to its permanent place in his setup. Whether it’s a tight lie in the rough or a tee shot that requires precision, Clanton trusts the Mini Driver to deliver consistent results. He praises its ability to shape shots and adjust trajectory to suit different course conditions, making it a reliable option for a wide range of situations.

With his winning set of clubs, Clanton showcases his ability to blend precision with power, utilizing each club’s strengths to maximize his performance on the course. His strategic approach to club selection based on feel, forgiveness, and versatility allows him to adapt to any challenge thrown his way during a round of golf. As he continues to make a name for himself in the golfing world, Luke Clanton’s equipment choices serve as a testament to the importance of finding the right tools to support his talent and passion for the game.
