The first day of the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – London was filled with excitement as Leona Maguire from Ireland took the lead with a seven-under-par 66 at Centurion Club. Despite being the favorite, World No.8 Charley Hull was forced to withdraw due to a shoulder injury after only six holes, leaving Maguire to shine at the top of the leaderboard.

Maguire’s stellar performance included four birdies on the front nine, three on the back nine, and an impressive up and down to save par on the 18th hole. Her flawless play not only secured her the individual lead but also propelled her team to the top of the Team leaderboard, tied with Team Hall and Team Itturioz at 14-under-par.

Teaming up with Liz Young and Marta Sanz Barrio, Maguire credited her team’s positive atmosphere for their success on the course. Nuria Iturrioz, who sits tied for third on the individual leaderboard, also highlighted the importance of teamwork in their strong performance, expressing confidence for the upcoming final day of the team competition.

Iturrioz’s team took advantage of her four birdies on the front nine to make an early surge to the top of the leaderboard. With a solid team dynamic and good vibes, Iturrioz remains optimistic about their chances heading into the final day of competition. Sarah Schober, who is just one shot behind Maguire after carding a six-under-par round, is also feeling confident and determined to continue her success in the tournament.

Despite missing the cut in the previous week’s Swiss Open, Schober bounced back with a strong performance, including seven birdies in her round. With two more days to go, Schober is focused on maintaining her composure and enjoying the competition alongside her fellow players.
