Nelly Korda made history at the Chevron Championship by winning her fifth consecutive LPGA Tour tournament and claiming her second major victory. The 25-year-old American showcased her skills by finishing with a 69 in the third round and a final round score of 69 in gusty conditions to secure the win at 13 under par, two shots ahead of Sweden’s Maja Stark. This victory solidified Korda’s status as one of the top players in women’s golf.

Korda spoke about the intensity and nerves she felt during the final round, emphasizing her desire to win the tournament. She reflected on her journey in golf, recalling her first major victory at the US Women’s Open in 2013 at the age of 14. Winning major championships has always been a dream for Korda, and she expressed her gratitude and joy at achieving this milestone.

With this win, Korda joins the ranks of Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam as the only players since 1978 to secure five consecutive titles. Her impressive performance at the Chevron Championship sets the stage for her continued success in the sport. Korda is set to compete in the upcoming JM Eagle LA Championship, where she will aim to further solidify her place among the top female golfers.

In addition to Korda’s remarkable victory, other notable players at the Chevron Championship included Lauren Coughlin, Brooke Henderson, and Haeran Ryu. Coughlin finished joint third with Henderson, while Ryu, the 54-hole leader, dropped to fifth place after a closing round of 74. The leaderboard also featured English players Georgia Hall, Charley Hull, and Lottie Woad, who ended the tournament in a share of 23rd place at one under par.

Korda’s impressive performance was complemented by her choice of equipment, which included a TaylorMade driver, fairway woods, and irons, as well as a Ping hybrid and TaylorMade wedges. Her choice of putter was a Scotty Cameron Special Select Squareback 2 Proto, and she played with a TaylorMade TP5x ball. Korda’s skill and precision with her equipment contributed to her success on the course.

The Chevron Championship served as a platform for women’s golf to showcase the talent and determination of players like Nelly Korda. The tournament highlighted the competitive nature of the sport and the resilience of athletes in challenging conditions. Korda’s win is a testament to her hard work and dedication to her craft, and it sets the stage for an exciting season ahead in women’s golf.

As Korda celebrates her historic victory at the Chevron Championship, fans and fellow competitors are eager to see what the future holds for this talented golfer. With multiple major championships under her belt and a record-breaking winning streak, Korda has established herself as a force to be reckoned with in women’s golf. Her journey to the top of the sport is an inspiration to aspiring young players and a source of pride for fans around the world.
