Nelly Korda made history at the Chevron Championship by winning five-straight starts, joining LPGA legends Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam in this elite group. Korda’s victory with a final-round 69 cemented her incredible run, with a two-stroke win over Maja Stark. The 25-year-old American shot a 13-under-par 275 total to secure the win and make her mark in LPGA history. Korda described the feeling as amazing, especially after overcoming doubts and setbacks from the previous year.

Korda’s journey to victory began early in the final round, with a strong front nine featuring a bogey-free 33. Despite some tense moments down the stretch, Korda managed to maintain her composure and secure the win. An errant drive and missed opportunities led to some bogeys, but Korda’s determination and focus helped her stay ahead of the competition. With her caddie by her side, Korda channeled past disappointments to finish strong and secure the win.

The support of Korda’s team, including her physio, caddie, agent, and coach, played a crucial role in her success. Each member of the team contributed to putting Korda in a position to succeed and stay focused on her goals. Korda’s coach’s positive encouragement and reminders to stay aggressive were instrumental in her winning strategy. Korda’s physical conditioning and mental preparation were key factors in her ability to perform at the highest level and secure the victory.

Korda’s record-breaking win streak has garnered significant attention from fans and the media, with growing interest in the LPGA tour. Her success has drawn comparisons to past legends like Michelle Wie West, with large galleries following her progress throughout the tournament. LPGA commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan even followed Korda during the final round, highlighting the significance of her achievement for the tour and its visibility.

Korda’s win also had a positive impact on the TV audience, with extended coverage of her final-round march to history on NBC. Fans tuned in to witness her dominant performance and historic win, further elevating her status as a marquee draw for the tour. Korda’s continued success has already established her as a record-breaker and trailblazer in the sport, with the potential for even more achievements in the future.

Despite her recent success, Korda remains focused on the next challenge ahead, with plans to compete in the upcoming JM Eagle LA Open at Wilshire Country Club. She has the opportunity to make further history by becoming the first to win five consecutive scheduled events and claim six wins in a row on the LPGA tour. With her determination, talent, and support system in place, Korda is poised to continue her impressive streak and solidify her status as one of the top players in women’s golf today.
