Nelly Korda, after a remarkable five-win streak in the LPGA, announced her withdrawal from the JM Eagle LA Championship due to exhaustion. In a social media post, Korda mentioned that after the mental and physical challenges of four events in the past five weeks, she felt the need to listen to her body and take some rest to prepare for the rest of the 2024 season. She began her impressive streak with a victory at the LPGA Drive On Championship followed by wins at Seri Pak Fir Hills Championship, Ford Championship, T-Mobile Match Play, and finally the Chevron Championship.

This streak of five straight victories puts Korda in the elite company of Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam who also achieved similar feat in LPGA history. Korda is now looking forward to extending her streak at the upcoming Cognizant Founders Cup in Clifton, N.J. She expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love and support she received during her recent wins and mentioned the incredible crowds and messages she received during the Chevron Championship at Carlton Woods. With so much more to come in the season, Korda’s decision to take a break shows her dedication to maintaining her physical and mental well-being.

The decision to withdraw from the JM Eagle LA Championship was not easy for Korda, but she prioritized her health and performance for the rest of the season. Her success in the recent events has brought her closer to becoming a prominent figure in the world of golf. The break will allow her to recharge and prepare for the challenges ahead, including the opportunity to make history with a sixth straight victory at the Cognizant Founders Cup. Korda’s incredible run of wins has captivated fans and fellow players alike, making her a standout performer on the LPGA tour.

Korda’s dominance on the LPGA tour has been evident in her consistent performance and ability to rise to the occasion when under pressure. Her mental toughness and skill have been on full display throughout her five consecutive victories, showcasing her potential to achieve even greater success in the future. With her decision to prioritize her well-being, Korda is setting a positive example for athletes facing similar demands in the competitive world of professional sports. By listening to her body and taking the necessary rest, Korda is ensuring that she can continue to perform at the highest level and inspire others with her success story.

The upcoming Cognizant Founders Cup will be a significant event for Korda as she aims to extend her winning streak and etch her name in the record books alongside legendary players like Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam. The tournament in Clifton, N.J., will provide Korda with another opportunity to showcase her talent and secure her legacy as one of the greatest golfers of her generation.
