The DP World Tour has announced its tournament schedule for the upcoming season, which will feature a minimum of 42 tournaments in 26 different countries. The total prize fund for the season will be a record-breaking $153 million, excluding Major Championships. The schedule will be divided into three phases, including five global swings and the DP World Tour Play-Offs in November 2025.
The schedule will see the return of tournaments in Turkey and Austria after several years. The Turkish Open will be held at Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort, while the Austrian Alpine Open presented by SalzburgerLand will take place at Gut Altentann Golf Club. Both tournaments will be part of the European Swing, one of the five Global Swings in Phase One of the season.
The Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa will also make a return to the schedule as part of the Opening Swing at the end of the current 2024 calendar year. The Opening Swing will kick off with the BMW Australian PGA Championship at Royal Queensland Golf Club in Brisbane. Each Global Swing will have its own champion and will offer exemptions into Rolex Series events and the second phase of the season.
The Back 9 events in the autumn will give players a chance to secure their spots in the season-ending DP World Tour Play-Offs, featuring back-to-back Rolex Series events in the Middle East. The schedule also includes three Rolex Series events earlier in the season, including the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, the Genesis Scottish Open, and the BMW PGA Championship.
In addition to regular tournaments, the 2025 schedule will feature two team match play contests – the Team Cup at Abu Dhabi Golf Club and the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in New York. The Ryder Cup will see Luke Donald’s European team facing off against Keegan Bradley’s United States team in September.
The 2025 schedule will introduce new venues for some tournaments, including the FedEx Open de France at Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche, the Amgen Irish Open at The K Club, the Italian Open at Argentario Golf Club, the ISCO Championship at Hurstbourne Country Club, and the Danish Golf Championship at Furesø Golf Klub.
Overall, the DP World Tour’s 2025 schedule promises an exciting season of golf with a diverse range of tournaments in various countries. Players will have the opportunity to compete for a significant prize fund and secure their spots in the season-ending DP World Tour Play-Offs. The schedule also includes team events and introduces new venues, adding to the excitement of the upcoming season.
