Prominent Players Left Out of the 2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship – Three Seen Dropping Below Top 125

As the 2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship came to a close, many golfers found themselves in a precarious position as they missed the cut and were on the cusp of losing their status for the 2025 PGA Tour season. With only the top 125 players in the FedEx Cup points earning status for the next season, the pressure was on for those who had fallen just short at the Bermuda Championship. With only two tournaments left to make their move, the race to secure a coveted PGA Tour card was heating up.

One such player who found himself in a tight spot was Zac Blair, who shot a disappointing 76 on Thursday followed by a 65 on Friday, finishing one shot off the cutline at 1 over par. This drop pushed him into the “bubble boy” position in the points race, falling from No. 118 to No. 125. Similarly, Joel Dahmen also missed the cut by four shots, falling from 121st to 126th in the standings after finishing 2 over for the tournament.

Kevin Tway, already outside the top 125 at No. 129, failed to produce enough birdies and made too many bogeys, resulting in scores of 72-70 and an early exit from the event. His performance further pushed him back to No. 132 in the standings. Alejandro Tosti, who sits at even par after two days with scores of 70 and 72, dropped four spots to No. 135 in the points race. As a contender for PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, Tosti needed a strong performance in the remaining tournaments to secure his spot for the next season.

Kevin Streelman, who shot 73-74 in Bermuda, has dropped to No. 141 in the standings, putting his status for 2025 at risk. Henrik Norlander, despite making the cut with scores of 70 and 69, fell outside the top 125 to No. 128. With 36 more holes over the weekend to climb back in, Norlander faced an uphill battle to secure his spot. Similarly, Daniel Berger made the cut in Bermuda with scores of 73 and 67 but slipped from No. 124 to No. 129, needing a strong finish in the remaining tournaments to maintain his status for the next season.

As the race for the 2025 PGA Tour cards intensifies, these players will need to bring their A-game in the final tournaments of the season to secure their spots for the next year. With only two tournaments left and the pressure mounting, every shot will count as players jockey for position in the FedEx Cup standings. The stakes are high, and the competition is fierce as players aim to secure their place among the top 125 and earn their status for the next season.

For Blair, Dahmen, Tway, and others on the bubble, the next two tournaments will be crucial in determining their fate for the 2025 PGA Tour season. With their backs against the wall, these players will need to dig deep and deliver standout performances to secure their spots among the top 125 in the standings. The pressure is on, and only those who can handle the heat will emerge victorious in the race for the coveted PGA Tour cards.

As the players gear up for the final stretch of the season, the competition will only intensify, with every shot and every putt taking on added significance. The margin for error is slim, and the pressure is palpable as players fight for their futures on the PGA Tour. With so much on the line, the next two tournaments promise to deliver thrilling moments and high-stakes drama as players give it their all to secure their spots for the 2025 season.
