Team USA secured its first Solheim Cup victory in seven years, thanks in large part to the outstanding performances of Rose Zhang and Megan Khang. The duo combined to win seven of Team USA’s 15 ½ points, with Zhang finishing 4-0-0 in her second cup appearance. Zhang’s flawless record made her only the eighth player in Solheim Cup history and the third American to achieve a 4-0-0 or better record. Alongside Lauren Coughlin’s 3-1-0 week and Khang’s 3-0-0 record, this marked the first time that three Americans had gone 3-0-0 or better in a single Solheim Cup, a feat that was last achieved by Dottie Pepper and Brandie Burton in 1994.

Reflecting on her experience, Zhang expressed how the Solheim Cup reignited her passion for the game and how inspiring it was to see overwhelming support from the fans. Zhang credited her incredible teammates for their support throughout the competition. The 2024 Solheim Cup saw several standout performances from Team USA players, including Allisen Corpuz, Nelly Korda, and Andrea Lee, who all finished with strong records. Each player’s contribution was crucial to Team USA’s victory over Team Europe.

The scoreboard of the Solheim Cup showcased the impressive performances of both Team USA and Team Europe. Charley Hull led Team Europe with a 3-2-0 record, followed by Madelene Sagstrom with a 2-1-0 record. Celine Boutier, Georgia Hall, and Anna Nordqvist also contributed essential points for Team Europe. However, it was Team USA’s dominant display, led by Zhang and Khang, that ultimately secured the victory for the American team.

The Solheim Cup is known for showcasing intense competition and camaraderie among the best female golfers from the United States and Europe. With a long history of memorable moments, the Solheim Cup continues to be a significant event in women’s golf, attracting top players from both sides of the Atlantic.
