Sedge Valley, the newest addition to Sand Valley Golf Resort in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, offers a unique and intimate golfing experience. With a par of 68 and stunning views of the heathland-inspired landscape, Sedge Valley stands out among its siblings as a course that demands strategic thinking and precision on every shot. This article provides an in-depth look at the practice facilities, customer service, amenities, beauty, tee shots, approach shots, greens and surrounds, overall design, and favorite holes at Sedge Valley.

The practice facilities at Sedge Valley, shared with the other Sand Valley courses, include a driving range and short game area with two large practice greens. The range is large enough to accommodate multiple players, and a short shuttle ride from the first tee makes it convenient to warm up before your round. The course also features a new restaurant, The Gallery, serving delicious Italian food and offering views of the golf course and tennis courts. The pro shop is well-stocked with premium soft goods featuring Sedge’s iconic fox logo.

The beauty and scenery at Sedge Valley are breathtaking, with lush green landscapes and stunning sand features that pay homage to the heathland courses in England. The course design is subtle and natural, allowing players to appreciate the natural contours of the land and focus on their game. Tee shots at Sedge Valley require strategic decision-making, with a variety of distances and angles to consider. The wide fairways offer room for error, but precise shots off the tee can set up advantageous approaches to the greens.

Approach shots at Sedge Valley present their own challenges, with undulating fairways and strategic rough that can affect your ability to reach the green. The greens are smaller than those at other Sand Valley courses but offer moderate undulations that provide a fair challenge for golfers of all skill levels. The surrounds at Sedge Valley are mostly puttable, with light rough and strategic mounding that dictate your approach to the green. Sand hazards are strategically placed to test your decision-making skills on approach shots.

The greens and surrounds at Sedge Valley are meticulously maintained, rolling smooth and true with moderate undulations that require precision putting. The smaller green sizes add emphasis on line rather than distance, and the firm and fast conditions reward players who can navigate the undulating surrounds with precision. The course design at Sedge Valley is subtle but precise, offering a challenging yet enjoyable golfing experience that encourages replayability and strategic thinking.

Favorite holes at Sedge Valley include the short but challenging par 4 6th hole, the picturesque par 3 5th hole, and the strategic par 4 18th hole. Each hole presents unique challenges and requires strategic decision-making to score well. Overall, Sedge Valley offers a diverse and engaging golfing experience that will appeal to players of all skill levels. With its stunning scenery, strategic design, and impeccable amenities, Sedge Valley is a must-visit destination for golfers looking for a unique and memorable round of golf.
