Review of the Mizuno Pro T-1 Wedge

In the world of golf, having control around the green is crucial, and Mizuno is a brand that excels in providing golfers with the feel they need for precision shots. The Pro T-1 wedge is one of the latest offerings from Mizuno, joining the Pro T-3 wedge in their lineup. This wedge has a refined new look that builds on the success of the T24 wedge, and I wanted to put it to the test on the golf course to see if it lives up to the hype in 2025. One of the standout features of the Pro T-1 wedge is its continuity in aesthetics with Mizuno’s 2025 iron lineup, specifically the Pro 241 iron.

The Pro T-1 wedge is a bladed players wedge designed to offer ultimate control and versatility, similar to the Pro 241 iron. It features a compact, teardrop head shape that is visually appealing both in hand and behind the ball. While the soft white satin finish is a favorite among many, there are also blue and black ion finishes available for those looking to add a pop of color to their bag. The contrasting silver face frames the ball nicely at address, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal of the wedge.

Constructed from 1025 Pure Select Mild Carbon Steel and copper underlay, the Mizuno Pro T-1 wedge offers a buttery soft feel and exceptional feedback, setting it apart from other wedges on the market. However, due to its bladed nature, it may not be the most forgiving wedge for off-center strikes. The wedge features new Quad Cut+ grooves and Hydroflow microgrooves that enhance spin generation and control moisture levels, making it a versatile option for golfers playing in a variety of conditions.

In terms of performance, the Mizuno Pro T-1 wedge delivers on its promises, especially when it comes to generating spin on chip and pitch shots. Despite being tested in softer conditions, the wedge showcased its ability to produce ample spin and control, thanks to the advanced groove technology. Mizuno offers six different sole profiles for the Pro T-1 wedge, allowing golfers to choose the bounce and grind options that best suit their playing style and course conditions.

As someone who enjoyed the performance of the T24 wedges, I was eager to test out the Mizuno Pro T-1 wedges, and they did not disappoint. The compact and sleek profile of the wedge is visually appealing and will appeal to better golfers looking for precision and feel in their short game. While the price point of £190 may be on the higher end, if you value a soft-feeling wedge with exceptional control and feedback, the Mizuno Pro T-1 wedge stands out as a top contender in the market. With its blend of performance, aesthetics, and feel, this wedge has the potential to elevate your short game to the next level.
