When it comes to golf shoes, many of the biggest sports brands are moving towards creating purpose-built golf shoes that offer both on and off-course versatility. While many brands are opting for spikeless outsoles, the new Nike Air Jordan 1 Nu Retro G shoes stand out with their spiked outsole. This spiked outsole is a unique feature that sets them apart from other casual golf shoes on the market.

The styling of the Nike Air Jordan 1 Nu Retro G shoes is very much in line with the classic Jordan Low 1 silhouette, with a few extra details added for this new version. The shoes feature the iconic Air Jordan logo embossed on the side, adding a new detail that some may love while others may find it a little too busy. The ‘University Blue’ colorway, inspired by the colors Michael Jordan wore during his college days, is a standout feature that adds a pop of color to the shoes.

Testing the spiked outsole for the first time, I found that the Nike Air Jordan 1 Nu Retro G shoes offered more stability and traction compared to spikeless options. The shoe felt stiffer, but in a good way, providing better support during the swing. The rubber heel design also added to the stability of the shoe. The option to remove the spikes adds versatility, allowing golfers to switch between a spiked and spikeless outsole for different playing conditions.

The fit of the Nike Air Jordan 1 Nu Retro G shoes is comfortable and secure, with soft foam in the midsole providing cushioning while walking. The upper is made from a blend of real and synthetic leather, with the synthetic leather dominating the materials. While the materials may feel a bit cheap to the touch, the shoes are still fully waterproof and provide adequate comfort for golfing.

Overall, my experience testing the Nike Air Jordan 1 Nu Retro G shoes was a positive one. The spiked outsole and stiffness of the shoe make it a great option for golfers looking for extra support and traction. The ability to remove the spikes adds to the versatility of the shoes, making them a great choice for those who want a shoe that can be used on and off the course. With its classic Jordan styling and innovative features, the Nike Air Jordan 1 Nu Retro G shoes are sure to be a hit among sneakerheads and golfers alike.
