Titleist has recently released their new GT driver family, following the success of previous models like the TSi and TSR. In this review, we take a closer look at the GT3 model to see how it compares to its predecessors and other drivers in the market.

One of the key changes in the GT range is the shift away from an all-titanium construction to a new material called Proprietary Matrix Polymer. This material is used in the crown section of the driver, making it approximately three times lighter than traditional titanium constructions. This new material allows for better mass distribution throughout the head, improving center of gravity and inertia goals.

The GT3 model features a new weight track that is positioned much closer to the face compared to the TSR3, allowing for more adjustability to match CG location with predominant strike patterns. Despite the multi-material crown, the driver maintains a clean and familiar Titleist visual with no visible joins or banner strips in the playing position.

From a subjective standpoint, the GT3’s shape may not appeal to everyone, as it leans towards the ‘pear-shaped’ end of the spectrum. However, for those who prefer this shape, the driver offers a balanced and solid feel at address. The addition of contrast to the face helps with ball alignment and loft visibility, enhancing confidence.

In terms of performance, the GT3 delivers exceptional results across various areas, making it a standout driver in the market. The driver is easy to shape and forgiving, even for off-center hits, retaining more ball speed than expected. Many players, including non-sponsored tour staff, have been seen using the GT3, indicating its high quality and performance.

The GT3 driver is available in various loft options and customization choices to cater to individual preferences. The standard length is 45.5 inches, with options for custom grips, shafts, and head weights. The GT range is priced at £579/$649, making it a competitive option for golfers looking for a high-performance driver.

Overall, the Titleist GT3 driver offers significant improvements over its predecessors in terms of design, performance, and adjustability. With its innovative materials and technology, the GT3 is a step forward in the driver market and a top choice for players seeking high-quality and versatile equipment.
