Review of Titleist T400 Irons by Plugged In Golf

Titleist is known for its high-end, player-focused golf equipment, but they also offer products for regular players looking for forgiveness and distance. The T400 irons are a prime example of this, designed with forgiveness and distance in mind.

The T400 irons have a unique look for a Titleist club, with a thick top line, offset, and a long, oval-shaped face with a short toe. The club’s sole sticks out beyond the top line, giving it a player-ish look in the cavity. The lack of bright colors and the massive, tiered sole add to its distinct appearance.

The T400 irons are known for their loud sound at impact, creating a distinctive “clap” that announces your presence. Feedback on strike quality is good, with small misses being covered up, while medium and large misses sound and feel distinct.

These irons boast very strong lofts, resulting in impressive distance. Titleist emphasizes distance with the T400 irons, and they certainly deliver, with carry distances as high as 195 yards. The forgiveness of these irons is also impressive, with as much as 100 grams of tungsten used in the longer irons to enhance forgiveness on off-center hits.

One important factor to consider with the T400 irons is their low spin, which can be great for distance but may make it difficult to hold greens. It’s recommended to test these irons with a fitter to ensure they suit your game and won’t negatively impact your scores.

In conclusion, while the strong lofts of the Titleist T400 irons may be a point of contention for some, the forgiveness and ease of use make them a worthwhile option for golfers looking to gain distance with their irons. Be sure to get properly fitted to ensure that the low spin characteristic doesn’t hinder your performance on the course.
