The 2024 U.S. Open is set to take place at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina, a historic course that has hosted the U.S. Open three times before. The course measures 7,588 yards and features Bermudagrass fairways and greens. The field will consist of 156 top players, with only the top 60 and ties making it through to the weekend. Past winners of the U.S. Open include Wyndham Clark, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Jon Rahm.

Key stats for Pinehurst No. 2 include Strokes Gained: Approach, Good Drive %, Strokes Gained: Around the Green, and Strokes Gained: Total in difficult conditions. Players such as Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, and Rory McIlroy rank high in these categories based on their performances over the past 24 rounds. The course is expected to play extremely firm and fast, providing a challenge for players.

Taking a look at the model rankings for the 2024 U.S. Open, top contenders include Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, and Rory McIlroy. These rankings are based on a combination of key statistical categories such as Strokes Gained: Approach and Good Drive %. Each player’s strengths and track record on certain types of courses are taken into account in the rankings.

In terms of betting picks for the 2024 U.S. Open, Rory McIlroy is a top choice at +1200 odds. Despite not winning a major in a decade, McIlroy has a strong track record at the U.S. Open and is well-suited for the firm and fast conditions at Pinehurst No. 2. Another strong contender is Bryson DeChambeau at +2000 odds, known for his elite off-the-tee game and adaptability to different course conditions.

Cameron Smith is also a dark horse pick for the U.S. Open at +4500 odds. Despite not being a long or straight hitter off the tee, Smith excels in Strokes Gained: Around the Green and has shown success in major championships over the past two years. His creativity and prowess on and around the greens make him a strong candidate to contend at Pinehurst No. 2.

Overall, the 2024 U.S. Open is shaping up to be a highly competitive event at one of golf’s most prestigious courses. With a talented field of players and notable contenders like McIlroy, DeChambeau, and Smith, the tournament promises exciting gameplay and potential surprises. Fans and bettors alike can look forward to an engaging competition as the players vie for the coveted U.S. Open title.
