The 2025 golfing season has kicked off with the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, where defending champion Rory McIlroy is set to compete for his fifth Dallah Trophy at Emirates GC. Alongside McIlroy are top players such as Viktor Hovland, Tommy Fleetwood, and Askhay Bhatia, as well as six big names from the LIV Golf League, including Individual Champion Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton from Legion XIII. Hatton, coming off a strong run of form with four straight top 10 finishes, is making his first competitive appearance in 2025.

This event serves as the first individual event on the DP World Tour in 2025, following the Team Cup which is played the week before.
