GOLFZON Tour’s Team Houston recently secured a thrilling sudden-death victory over Team Mexico in a simulator golf match. This exciting competition began with a total of 12 teams vying for a $150,000 grand prize but has now been narrowed down to just eight teams battling it out in a single-elimination bracket format. The regional teams, comprised of five players each from GOLFZON host facilities across the U.S., London, Toronto, and Mexico, compete against each other in virtual matches using simulator technology.

The format of the GOLFZON Tour involves female competitors playing 85 percent of the yardage of their male counterparts. Teams of three players link their simulators together over the Internet to compete in a match-play format, with the two best scores from each team counting on each hole. In case of a tie after 18 holes, the match proceeds to a sudden-death playoff where all three players’ scores are taken into account. The team with the lower score on a hole wins the match.

In a recent match between Team Houston and Team Mexico, held at PGA National’s Champion course in Florida, Team Houston took an early lead by winning three of the first five holes. However, Team Mexico mounted a comeback in the back nine, ultimately forcing the match into sudden-death. Team Houston emerged victorious after a thrilling extra hole, securing their spot in the quarterfinal round of the competition.

The 12 teams participating in the GOLFZON Tour include regional teams from Detroit, London, Louisville, New York City, Orlando, Toronto, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Mexico, Minneapolis, and Tulsa. Fans can follow the action on GOLFZON’s YouTube page, where full match recaps and episodes are released weekly. As the competition progresses through the single-elimination rounds, viewers can tune in to see which team will emerge as the ultimate winner of the $150,000 grand prize in the finale scheduled for January.

The GOLFZON Tour represents a unique and exciting opportunity for everyday players to compete in high-stakes simulator golf matches. With teams from various regions showcasing their skills and strategic gameplay, the competition promises to deliver thrilling moments and unexpected outcomes. As the tournament progresses, fans can stay tuned to see which team will outperform the rest and emerge victorious in the quest for the prestigious grand prize.
