Terras da Comporta, a luxury golf and real estate destination in Portugal, has recently announced a new partnership with the Metropolitan PGA, a leading member of the PGA of America. This collaboration aims to elevate Terras da Comporta’s international status and attract professionals and amateurs from around the world to experience The Dunas Course, named as the world and Europe’s best golf course at the 2024 World Golf Awards. Through their partnership with California-based golf tour operator Garmany Golf, the Metropolitan PGA will arrange hosted trips to Terras da Comporta for golf enthusiasts.

The Metropolitan PGA, comprised of more than 29,000 professionals, is excited to work with Terras da Comporta to provide world-class experiences for their members. Terras da Comporta’s director of golf, Rodrigo Ulrich, is thrilled about this new partnership and the opportunity to showcase the destination to golfers from North America. With the opening of a second 18-hole course, The Torre, in June 2025, Terras da Comporta is poised to become a premier golf destination for players of all abilities.

Jeff Voorheis, executive director of the Metropolitan PGA, sees this partnership as a unique and exciting opportunity for their members. By collaborating with Garmany Golf and Terras da Comporta, they aim to deliver exceptional experiences to their club members. Bud Garmany, president of Garmany Golf, believes that this partnership will provide a special opportunity for everyone involved, showcasing the incredible golf course and hospitality of Terras da Comporta to the members of the Met PGA.

Located just one hour south of Lisbon, Terras da Comporta is home to The Dunas Course, designed by architect David McLay-Kidd. The course has received universal acclaim since its opening in June 2023 and is the first of two 18-hole courses at the destination. Owned by Vanguard Properties, the development also features a second course designed by European Ryder Cup legend Sergio Garcia, set to open this summer. The Torre Course promises a challenging layout with risk-and-reward holes inspired by Garcia’s favorite course, Valderrama.

In addition to golf, Terras da Comporta offers a range of lifestyle activities including horse-riding, wellness, tennis, padel, pickleball, and more. The destination also provides a variety of plots for hotels, tourist accommodations, and residential condominiums, making it an ideal location for both leisure and investment opportunities. With its stunning natural surroundings and world-class amenities, Terras da Comporta is set to become a premier destination for golf lovers and luxury travelers alike.
