Nelly Korda, a dominant force in the LPGA, had an exceptional 2024 season, winning a total of seven events including her second major, clinching the LPGA Player of the Year title with three tournaments to spare, and being part of the victorious U.S. Solheim Cup team. At just 26, she amassed nearly $4.4 million in earnings, breaking into the top 20 in career earnings. Despite her impressive achievements on the course, Korda expressed that her favorite moment of the year was becoming an aunt to her sister Jessica’s son, Greyson.

The Korda family is no stranger to athletic success, with Jessica being a six-time LPGA Tour winner, father Petr a former world No. 2 in men’s tennis, and brother Sebastian currently ranked No. 23 in Men’s Tennis ATP Rankings. Nelly, who has held the top spot in the Rolex Rankings for the past eight months, is admired by her family for her accomplishments on and off the course. Jessica described Nelly’s season as “insane” and “not normal”, highlighting her mental and physical fortitude in winning five tournaments in a row, followed by an additional two victories.

Korda’s historic season began with a five-event winning streak from the LPGA Drive On Championship to the Chevron Championship, culminating in six wins in seven starts with a combined 75-under par. While she faced some challenges, such as missing cuts and a neck injury that sidelined her for two months, Korda maintained her high level of play and resilience throughout the year. Despite some setbacks, Korda’s perseverance and determination led to her exceptional success in 2024.

One of the highlights of Korda’s season was her seventh victory at The Annika, a sentimental win close to her hometown in Bradenton. Despite missing out on an eighth win at the CME Group Tour Championship, Korda reflected on the highs and lows of her season with gratitude, expressing her love for the game and her desire to inspire the next generation of golfers. She acknowledged that her passion for improvement and the pursuit of trophies motivated her to continue striving for excellence in her career.

In the CME Group Tour Championship, Korda finished as runner-up to Jeeno Thitikul, who set a new LPGA record with a $4 million first-place prize. Korda, who finished second for the season in earnings, recognized her performance and acknowledged areas for improvement. She expressed her love for the game and her dedication to pushing herself to new heights in the sport. With her impressive track record and unwavering drive, Korda continues to set her sights on breaking more records and achieving further success in the future.
