Alignment sticks are a popular training aid among professional golfers, as seen at the U.S. Women’s Open at Lancaster. The inexpensive tool can be beneficial for both amateurs and pros to improve their alignment and accuracy on the golf course. Many professional golfers were spotted using alignment sticks on the range to help them with their alignment.

Jennifer Kupcho, a major champion, explained that she has a tendency to aim a little left, so she uses alignment sticks to ensure she is lined up correctly. By laying the alignment stick on the ground between her feet and the club, she can easily check her alignment before taking a shot. Other professional golfers, such as Gabi Ruffles, also find alignment sticks helpful in saving time and improving their accuracy on the range.

Trillium Rose, a Golf Digest Top 50 Teacher in America, recommends that amateurs also use alignment sticks to help them dial in their target and improve their alignment. Many amateurs struggle with their alignment and mistakenly think they are lined up correctly. By practicing with alignment sticks, golfers can develop a consistent alignment routine that will benefit their game in the long run.

To use alignment sticks effectively, stand behind the ball and choose a target. Lay the alignment stick on the ground halfway between your feet and the ball, aiming it at the target. Ensure that your clubface and feet are parallel to the alignment stick before addressing the ball. It may feel awkward at first, but correcting bad alignment habits will ultimately improve your performance on the golf course.

By practicing with alignment sticks and developing a consistent alignment routine, golfers can improve their accuracy and overall performance on the course. Many professional golfers rely on alignment sticks to ensure they are lined up correctly and hitting their target consistently. Amateurs can benefit from using alignment sticks to correct alignment issues and improve their overall game. Incorporating alignment sticks into your practice routine can lead to better results on the golf course.
