The AIG Women’s Open is a premier golf event that offers top-notch facilities and amenities for both players and golf writers. With features such as a concierge service, a restaurant, a beautician, a purpose-built gym, a relaxation area, a mobile cold plunge unit, and a courtesy car service, it is clear that participants are well looked after. These amenities were part of a significant upgrade in competitor comforts for the final major of the women’s campaign at the Old Course in August, which earned the LPGA Tour’s Gold Driver award for the best player experience.

Championship director Zoe Ridgway shared that the event scored 9.8 out of 10 on the player survey, showing high satisfaction levels among participants. This attention to player resources is part of the evolution of the championship into one of the biggest in the women’s game. The AIG Women’s Open now boasts a large purse of $9 million, with the winner taking home £1.35 million. The focus on player facilities and amenities is what sets this event apart from others in the women’s golf circuit.

The event organizers work closely with professionals in areas such as sports and exercise medicine, mental health, and nutrition to provide top-tier services. From skin screenings to tailored menus for different nationalities, everything is catered to the individual needs of the players. The attention to detail extends to providing base foods for players to build their own menus, featuring lean protein, vegetables, fruits, and other performance-enhancing foods.

Ridgway’s experience in event management with the ISM group and her work on previous golf tournaments have prepared her for the challenges of organizing the AIG Women’s Open. Despite the complexities of organizing events during the Covid-19 pandemic, Ridgway and her team have successfully adapted to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. The upcoming edition of the AIG Women’s Open in Wales at Royal Porthcawl promises to continue the tradition of excellence with top-notch amenities and facilities.

Overall, the AIG Women’s Open sets a new standard for golf events, offering unmatched comfort and convenience for players and attendees. With a focus on player satisfaction and well-being, the event continues to evolve and improve each year. The attention to detail, personalized services, and dedication to providing the best possible experience for all involved make the AIG Women’s Open a standout event in the women’s golf calendar. Whether it’s the top-tier amenities, professional services, or unique experiences, the AIG Women’s Open showcases the best of women’s golf and sets a high bar for future events in the industry.
