GOLF’s Course Raters recently released their Top 100 Courses in the U.S. and Top 100 Courses You Can Play rankings, with a focus on identifying the best golf courses in every state. Their expert panelists have meticulously curated lists to help golf enthusiasts plan their future trips. The new Course Finder tool can assist in creating the perfect itinerary by filtering through various lists, including the Top 100 public, best munis, best short courses, best par-3s, and more.

Wyoming boasts some impressive golf courses, with Shooting Star GC in Teton Village taking the top spot in the rankings. Other notable courses include Snake River Sporting Club in Jackson, 3 Creek Ranch in Jackson, Teton Pines in Wilson, and GC at Devils Tower in Hulett. Each course has its unique characteristics and challenges that appeal to golfers of all skill levels.

The rankings were determined through a meticulous process where each panelist was provided with a ballot featuring 609 courses and 11 “buckets” or groupings. Panelists had the opportunity to rank courses based on their overall performance, design, and appeal. Points were then assigned to each bucket, and the courses were ranked accordingly based on their aggregate scores. This simple yet effective process ensures that the rankings accurately reflect the panelists’ collective expertise and experience.

GOLF’s panelists come from diverse backgrounds, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in golf course architecture. They have played courses all over the world, ranging from 1,000 to over 2,000 in various countries. Their keen eye for detail and understanding of regional and global architectural styles adds depth to the rankings, providing valuable insights for golfers looking to explore new courses.
