Week 14 is here, and we are switching up our golf equipment for a more forgiving set of irons and a new hybrid with a different shaft. The course conditions are expected to be softer due to heavy rain, so we are selecting clubs with lots of bounce and an extra hybrid. The wedges remain the same as last week.
Our driver for this week is the Cobra Darkspeed X with 10.5 degrees of loft, paired with a VA Composites Raijin 2.0 65x shaft. For our 3-wood, we are going with the TaylorMade Qi10 Tour with 15 degrees of loft, equipped with a Fujikura Ventus Red 7x (2018) shaft. We have also added a new 3-hybrid, the TaylorMade Qi10 Tour Rescue with 19.5 degrees of loft and a Mitsubishi Tensei AV Limited Blue HY 75s shaft. Additionally, we have a new 4-hybrid, the PXG Black Ops with 22 degrees of loft and a Mitsubishi Tensei AV Limited Blue HY 75s shaft.
Our iron set for this week is the Ping i230, with 5-PW, paired with a Fujikura Axiom 105s shaft. For our wedges, we have a Titleist Vokey SM10 with 50.12F loft and a Nippon Modus Tour 105 Stiff shaft, a Titleist Vokey SM10 with 56.14F loft and a Nippon Modus Tour 105 Stiff shaft, and a Titleist Vokey Wedgeworks with 60 A+ loft and a True Temper Dynamic Gold S200 shaft. Our putter choice is the Odyssey Ai-One Milled 8 T S with a UST All-In shaft, and we are playing with the Titleist ProV1x ball.
It is important to select the right equipment for each round of golf, taking into consideration the course conditions and your individual playing style. By choosing forgiving irons and clubs with the right amount of bounce, you can improve your performance on soft courses. The shaft choice is also crucial, as it can affect the trajectory and feel of your shots. Make sure to test out different combinations to find what works best for you.
The Cobra Darkspeed X driver offers forgiveness and distance, while the TaylorMade Qi10 Tour 3-wood and hybrids provide versatility and control. The Ping i230 irons are known for their playability and consistency, making them a great choice for mid-handicap players. The Titleist Vokey wedges are trusted for their spin and precision around the greens, helping you save strokes on your short game. The Odyssey putter offers a smooth roll and alignment aid, enhancing your putting performance.
Overall, having the right mix of clubs in your bag can make a significant difference in your game. Experiment with different combinations and find what feels comfortable and consistent for you. Remember to adjust your equipment based on the course conditions and your strengths as a player. By being strategic in your club selection, you can improve your overall performance and enjoy the game even more. So, make sure to test out new clubs, shafts, and configurations to find the winning combination for your game.
