Sam “Riggs” Bozoian, from Barstool Sports, recently missed the Fore Play podcast because he was playing at Bandon Dunes, a famous golf resort in Oregon with multiple top-ranked courses. Despite his absence from the podcast, Riggs caused a stir on social media when he shared a photo of himself with a hole-in-one at the resort. In the photo, the ball appears to be partially below the lip of the hole, prompting discussions about the USGA Rules and Interpretations regarding such situations.

Rule 13.2c of the USGA rules states that if a ball comes to rest against the flagstick left in the hole and any part of the ball is below the surface of the putting green, it is considered holed. However, if no part of the ball is below the surface, it must be played as it lies and there is no penalty if the ball moves when the flagstick is removed. The National Hole-In-One Association estimates that an amateur golfer has a one in 12,750 chance of hitting a hole-in-one on a par 3 hole.

Riggs’ accomplishment at Bandon Dunes generated excitement among golf enthusiasts, with many congratulating him on his impressive feat. The photo he shared sparked debates about the technicalities of what constitutes a hole-in-one and how the USGA rules apply in such situations. Despite some questions about the validity of the hole-in-one, Riggs’ celebration and offer to buy drinks for those present at Bandon Dunes added to the excitement surrounding his achievement.

The Fore Play podcast, which Riggs missed to play at Bandon Dunes, is a popular show within the golf community that covers a variety of topics related to the sport. Riggs’ absence from the show was overshadowed by his hole-in-one accomplishment, which attracted widespread attention on social media. His presence on Twitter and other platforms helped to amplify the buzz surrounding his achievement, further solidifying his status as a prominent figure within the golf world.

As a member of Barstool Sports, Riggs has built a strong following of fans who appreciate his passion for golf and his engaging personality. His success at Bandon Dunes added another chapter to his golfing journey and showcased his skill and dedication to the sport. Despite missing the podcast, Riggs’ hole-in-one served as a reminder of the unpredictable and thrilling nature of golf, where moments of triumph can arise even in unexpected circumstances.

In conclusion, Sam “Riggs” Bozoian’s hole-in-one at Bandon Dunes sparked discussions and debates within the golf community, highlighting the intricacies of the USGA rules and the excitement that comes with achieving such a rare feat. His presence on social media helped to amplify the buzz surrounding his accomplishment, drawing attention to both his golfing skills and his engaging personality. As a prominent figure within the golf world, Riggs continues to inspire and entertain fans with his passion for the sport and his willingness to share his experiences, both on and off the course.
