The 2024 Women’s PGA Championship is set to take place at Sahalee near Seattle, where golf fans witnessed Brooke Henderson’s first major win. The course features narrow fairway corridors and well-treed fairways, providing a unique challenge for players and deviating from the current trend in championship golf architecture. The tournament will take place over the same 18 holes as Henderson’s victory, with expectations of another thrilling finish.

The Women’s PGA Championship, now in its 10th year, promises exciting action and drama for fans to enjoy. Lexi Thompson, a prominent figure in previous major championships, took the lead after round one with six birdies, closely followed by Nelly Korda and Patty Tavatanakit. Lexi’s announcement that the 2024 season would be her last has added emotional weight to her performance, as fans hope for a farewell victory for the Floridian golfer. The tournament will showcase intense competitiveness as players strive for victory until the final holes.

Nelly Korda, the top-ranked player in the world with six wins in 2024, and Tavatanakit, the 2021 ANA major championship winner, present strong competition for the title. Both players had a solid performance in round one, showcasing their skills on the challenging Sahalee course. The tournament features a captivating mix of golfers, with eleven players tied at two-under par, including European stars Celine Boutier, Leona Maguire, and Charley Hull. The competitive field promises an exciting battle for the championship.

Some players struggled in the opening round, with Minjee Lee, Lydia Ko, Lilia Vu, and Rose Zhang facing challenges to make the cut and contend for the title. Despite setbacks, these players have the potential to bounce back in the following rounds and stage a comeback. The unpredictable nature of the game adds to the excitement of the championship, with each day offering new opportunities for players to rise to the occasion and showcase their skills.

As the tournament progresses, fans can expect more thrilling action on the challenging Sahalee course. The emphasis on accurate driving and strategic play will test the skills of the players, rewarding those who can navigate the narrow fairways and tree-lined layout. With surprises and unexpected outcomes in each round, the Women’s PGA Championship offers a captivating and suspenseful viewing experience for golf enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more excitement and drama as the championship unfolds over the next few days.
