2025 PGA Tour Cards to be Earned at Korn Ferry Tour Championship

The Korn Ferry Tour season-long race is heating up as 30 PGA Tour cards for the next season are up for grabs at the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour Championship. Currently, 17 players have already secured their 2025 PGA Tour card, leaving 13 spots open for the players in the top 30 at the season finale. The tournament will be held at French Lick Golf Resort’s Pete Dye Course in Indiana, a challenging par-72 course measuring 7,667 yards.

Among the players who have clinched a spot on the PGA Tour for next season is Matt McCarty, who earned his card via the three-victory promotion in 2024. McCarty will not be competing at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship as he will be playing in the PGA Tour’s Sanderson Farms Championship instead. The top 10 players in the KFT points standings include Matt McCarty, Max McGreevy, Tim Widing, Steven Fisk, Frankie Capan III, Taylor Dickson, Harry Higgs, William Mouw, Brian Campbell, and Thomas Rosenmueller.

Players inside the top 30 without a 2025 PGA Tour card are still vying for their spot in the next season. The top five players in this group, including Karl Vilips, John Pak, Jackson Suber, Mason Andersen, and Jeremy Paul, have a strong enough points lead to secure their cards. However, the players in the next group, dubbed the “bubble,” such as Kris Ventura, Ricky Castillo, Noah Goodwin, Aldrich Potgieter, Kaito Onishi, Trevor Cone, and Sam Bennett, are at risk of being overtaken by others in the standings.

The Pete Dye Course at French Lick Golf Resort is known for its challenging layout, with a tough finishing stretch that includes a 220-yard par-3, a 465-yard par-4, and a 626-yard par-5. The course has previously hosted prestigious events like the 2015 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship and the 2019 Senior LPGA Championship. This week, 75 players will compete with no cut, giving everyone in the field four rounds to earn valuable points for next season.

Players like Max McGreevy, Tim Widing, Taylor Dickson, and Harry Higgs, who have already secured two wins in 2024, have the opportunity to earn immediate access to the PGA Tour’s 2024 FedExCup Fall and fully exempt status on the PGA Tour in 2025 with a third victory. This year, 30 players will earn their PGA Tour cards, a significant increase from the previous years when only the top five players earned their cards. The race for the remaining 13 spots at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship will undoubtedly be intense as players aim to secure their spot on the PGA Tour for the next season.
