Pro golfers are no different from regular people when it comes to group chats blowing up when something wild happens in their lives. However, the difference lies in the fact that for professional golfers, the “something wild” is not usually getting arrested on national TV right before playing a major championship round. Scottie Scheffler’s recent incident at the PGA Championship grabbed headlines as he was arrested on his way to his tee time but still managed to shoot a 66 after being released. Despite fading from contention, Xander Schauffele eventually won the tournament.

Schauffele, who is friends with Scheffler, shared his perspective on the ordeal on a special episode of GOLF Subpar podcast. Initially, Schauffele thought it was a prank and didn’t believe it until the gravity of the situation sunk in. Following Scheffler’s release, Schauffele and other pros in their group chat, including Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth, had some fun at Scheffler’s expense. They poked fun at him in a light-hearted manner and even changed the group chat name in jest.

While they did not disclose the exact nature of the jokes directed at Scheffler, Schauffele mentioned that they had trouble coming up with material and wanted to keep things peaceful. Despite this, Scheffeler is known to be chill and takes jokes in stride when with his friends, but they are quick to defend him if anyone outside the group tries to make fun of him. The entire incident was taken light-heartedly, and Schauffele shared more insights during his Subpar appearance.

Schauffele’s Subpar appearance provided a deeper dive into his perspective on the events of PGA week, shedding light on his friendship with Scheffler, the dynamics of their group chat, and the humor they shared. The podcast episode offered fans a glimpse into the camaraderie and banter among professional golfers, showcasing the lighter side of their relationships off the course. The incident involving Scheffler’s arrest served as a backdrop for the humor and camaraderie between Schauffele and his fellow pros.

As a professional golfer, Schauffele’s insights into the incident added a personal touch to the story, highlighting the bond between players on the tour. Despite the seriousness of the initial situation, Schauffele’s recount of the events provided a humorous and relatable angle for fans. The camaraderie among golfers, as seen through the group chat banter, humanizes these athletes and showcases their ability to find humor in challenging situations. Ultimately, Schauffele’s Subpar appearance offered a behind-the-scenes look at the lighter side of professional golf and the friendships that exist among players on the tour.
