Review of the FootJoy HydroTour & HydroLite X Rain Jackets

FootJoy’s focus is on offering golfers a comprehensive layering system with their goal of “Make every day playable.” In 2023, they have shifted their focus to outerwear, specifically rain jackets. The review will focus on two premium rain jackets, the HydroLite X and the HydroTour.

The FootJoy HydroTour rain jacket is more bold in its design, featuring contrasting body and sleeves in half of the colorways. The waterproof seams are highlighted with different colors in each version. It comes in six colorways, including Black/Charcoal/Red, Navy/Grey, and Navy/Indigo. The HydroLite X, on the other hand, is more monochromatic in its design, with options like Black, Navy, Blue, and Acid Green.

In terms of fit, the FootJoy HydroLite X fits true to size, providing ample room to swing and even space for a second layer underneath. It is a lightweight jacket that can be layered for colder temperatures. The HydroTour rain jacket also fits well over a single layer, with the size medium being perfect for the reviewer. The length and torso fit of the jacket are standout features, providing comfort and freedom of movement during a swing.

Both the FootJoy HydroLite X and HydroTour rain jackets offer excellent waterproofing with a two-year warranty. The dual-sealed seams and YKK Aquaguard zippers ensure no water penetrates the jackets. The jackets also feature waterproof, zippered pockets with great depth for usability. The waterproof cuffs with Velcro adjustability and elastic provide a secure fit without constricting the wrist.

Unique to the FootJoy HydroTour rain jacket is the Golf Collar with DrySeal technology, which allows water to escape out the back of the jacket. This feature, along with the dual collar design, keeps the neck dry during rainy conditions. Overall, both jackets offer smart features and performance for golfers looking to stay dry and comfortable on the course.

Whether playing in summer rain or extending the golf season into cooler, rainy days, FootJoy has the perfect rain jacket for every golfer. The HydroLite X is lightweight and breathable, ideal for warmer temperatures, while the HydroTour is a great choice for cooler, wet days on the course. With a focus on performance and comfort, FootJoy’s rain jackets are a valuable addition to any golfer’s wardrobe.
