Improve Your Putting Game with This Easy Green-Reading Technique

Improving your putting game is crucial in shaving strokes off your overall score, and Cleveland Golf ambassador Jake Hutt shares some tips on how to do just that. Putting is often overlooked in favor of hitting the big drives on the range, but mastering your putting can be the key to winning rounds. Hutt emphasizes the importance of building a consistent routine, trusting the process, and seeing great results on the green.

To visualize success in putting, Hutt recommends using your feet to help read the breaks on the putting surface. By standing halfway between the ball and the target and feeling which foot has more pressure, you can determine which way the ball will break. This method can give you an edge over your playing partners and help you leave putts closer to the hole. Using your feet in combination with your eyes can help you determine the optimal line for sinking putts.

The Cleveland HB Soft 2 putter is a great tool for improving your putting game, providing forgiveness and control even if you miss the center of the face. This putter allows for consistent ball speed and start line, helping you make more accurate putts. Hutt emphasizes the importance of trusting your subconscious during your putting stroke and letting go of the need to control every aspect of the shot.

During a practice session at Terranea Resort, Hutt helped the author work on reading the greens and sinking putts. By experimenting with the green-reading tips from Hutt, the author was able to improve his aim and come closer to sinking a 30-foot birdie putt. By using a combination of feet and eyes to read the breaks on the green, the author was able to improve his putting game and shave strokes off his score.

Overall, mastering the art of green-reading and utilizing your feet as a tool can help you become a more consistent putter and ultimately improve your overall golf game. The Cleveland HB Soft 2 putter is a great option for golfers looking to improve their putting skills, providing forgiveness and control for more accurate putts. By trusting your process, building a routine, and using your feet to read the greens, you can leave more putts closer to the hole and ultimately lower your scores on the course. Remember, putting is the great equalizer in golf, and mastering this aspect of the game can lead to lower scores and more enjoyable rounds.
