Wilson Golf’s AI fitting tool, Wilson Fit AI, has taken the golf world by storm with its state-of-the-art technology. The fitting tool uses Blast Motion’s Bluetooth-enabled sensor to capture approximately 12,000 data points per swing. This data is then analyzed using Wilson’s black box algorithm to provide custom-fit iron recommendations based on elements such as swing plane, wrist hinge, shaft load, club face closure, and overall swing tempo. Club fitters using a Wilson iron with the Blast Motion sensor can provide real-time feedback on every aspect of a player’s swing, allowing them to recommend the perfect set of Wilson customized irons, along with the ideal head model, shaft type, and grip for each golf club.

Ed Garland, Wilson Golf’s Master Fitter, plays a crucial role in the development and success of Wilson Fit AI. He fits all of the company’s tour players and high-profile guests or ambassadors and was the man chosen to lead the fittings for GolfWRX’s forum members. Garland claims that in as little as three swings, the right fit in terms of head, shaft, and grip can be determined. The AI fitting tool is highly praised by forum members who have experienced it firsthand, with one member stating, “It’s almost scary how easy and accurate it is.” The tool starts by building a player profile based on skill level, goals in golf, grip size, wrist-to-floor measurements, height, and other key factors, then uses a stock 7-iron with a soft flex shaft for the fitting process.

After hitting a handful of shots with the AI fitting tool, the app provides recommendations based on the collected data, offering steel and graphite options for the player. Based on the recommendations, the fitter selects the appropriate shaft and builds a 7-iron for the player to test on the range. The detailed analysis provided by the AI fitting tool allows for a quick and accurate narrowing down of potential options, removing the guesswork for players who are unsure about what equipment they need. The data collected by the tool includes metrics such as G-force, Axis, and Tempo, providing a comprehensive overview of the player’s swing characteristics.

Wilson Golf’s dedication to creating competitive products and providing golfers with cutting-edge fitting technology is evident in the success of Wilson Fit AI. GolfWRX forum members who participated in the fitting sessions with Wilson Golf came away impressed with the accuracy and efficiency of the AI fitting tool. Many of the clubs that were fit during the sessions have already made their way into the bags of forum members, highlighting the effectiveness of the fitting process. With Wilson Fit AI, golfers can expect a personalized fitting experience that takes into account their individual swing characteristics and equipment needs.
