Xander Schauffele is gearing up to defend his Olympic gold medal in Paris after recently winning his second major championship at the age of 30. In an interview with ESPN’s Matt Barrie, Schauffele reflected on his journey and the momentum he has built in his career. After posting 12 top 10 finishes in majors since 2017, Schauffele has now won two of his past three, with a T7 at the U.S. Open in between. His victory at the PGA Championship at Valhalla in May provided him with the self-belief and confidence needed to succeed at Royal Troon.

During the interview, Schauffele discussed the importance of self-belief and confidence in golf, attributing his recent success to these factors. He mentioned that winning his first major did not have a significant impact on his mindset until he found himself in a position to win again. With the Olympic Games approaching, Schauffele expressed excitement at the prospect of adding another golf medal to his collection. Despite his recent achievements, Schauffele emphasized the need to stay humble and continue working hard to maintain his competitive edge.

As the first round of the Paris Olympics approaches on August 1, fans are eagerly anticipating Schauffele’s performance on the global stage. In a recent interview, he mentioned playing golf with his U.S. Olympic teammates and feeling the pressure to improve his game after losing to them. Schauffele’s dedication and drive to succeed have propelled him to the top of the golf world, and his upcoming appearance at the Olympics is sure to be a thrilling event for fans and competitors alike.
