Titleist introduces the latest GT2 and GT3 fairway woods – GolfWRX

Titleist has introduced its new GT line of drivers with a focus on total driver performance, breaking away from the market trend of designing primarily for consistency and forgiveness. The GT drivers are billed as faster, longer, straighter, and more forgiving across the face. The line includes GT2, GT3, and GT4 models, each designed for specific player needs. The Seamless Thermoform Crown, Split Mass Construction, and improved aerodynamics contribute to the performance of the GT line. Speed Ring with VFT technology is aimed at delivering more ball speed off the face on both on- and off-center strikes.

The GT2 driver is designed for high launch, low spin, with forgiveness and high MOI. The GT3 offers high launch, lower spin, and more adjustability for players who find the center of the face more often. The GT4 is a mid-launch, low-spin offering for players with higher spin rates. Titleist highlights the GT line as a monumental leap forward in driver design and engineering, aiming to deliver the highest-performing driver they have ever made. The company emphasizes balanced performance across all attributes for total driving performance.

Titleist’s GT drivers have made a significant impact on the tour since their launch at the 2024 Memorial Tournament. Players like Will Zalatoris, Lee Hodges, and Wyndham Clark have switched to the GT drivers and have experienced performance benefits. The GT2 model is the most popular among Tour players, followed by the GT3 and GT4 models. Many players cite increased ball speed, tighter dispersion, better feel, and a more muted sound with the GT drivers. The drivers have garnered praise for their classic Titleist look and playability.

According to Titleist, the GT drivers are designed to outperform their previous line, offering increased speed, distance, accuracy, sound, look, and feel. Club Junkie’s take on the GT drivers is positive, with a focus on improved sound and feel, as well as enhanced performance on off-center hits. The GT2, GT3, and GT4 drivers cater to different player profiles and preferences, providing options for high launch, low spin, adjustability, and spin reduction. The overall design philosophy behind the GT line is to optimize all performance attributes for total driving performance.

The GT drivers are available for pre-sale now and will be at retail on 8/23, priced at $649 ($849 with a premium shaft). Various shaft options are offered, including Mitsubishi, Project X, and Graphite Design models. Premium shaft options are also available for those looking for specialized performance characteristics. The GT drivers have been well-received on the tour, with a growing number of players opting for the performance benefits and versatility offered by the GT line.
