Titleist has introduced the new GT driver family for 2024, including the GT4 model which is designed to reduce spin rates for players. The GT range features a departure from traditional all-titanium construction, utilizing a Proprietary Matrix Polymer in the crown section to optimize mass distribution throughout the head. The GT4 specifically incorporates a Seamless Thermoform Crown and Split Mass Construction to achieve an aggressive spin profile while maintaining stability.

The compact 430cc head of the Titleist GT4 is visually appealing, with a clean and round profile that may be intimidating for higher handicap players. The addition of color contrast on the face assists with alignment and visibility of loft, enhancing player confidence at address. Although the sole design is somewhat dull, it does not affect the overall performance quality of the GT drivers.

During testing, the GT4 demonstrated low spin levels, high ball speeds, and impressive feel, making it suitable for proficient ball strikers. PGA Professionals found the GT4 to be the most workable option in the GT range, with a unique acoustic profile that delivers power and performance. Adjusting the weights on the sole can significantly alter launch and spin rates, providing versatility and customization options for players.

The GT4, available in 8˚, 9˚, and 10˚ options for both right and left-handed players, offers customization in grip, shaft, and head weight preferences. Non-upchargeable options include the Project X Denali Red, Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Blue and Black, and the Project X Hzrdus Black 5th Gen. With a retail price of £579/$649, the GT4 remains a niche product due to its compact head size, but its performance merits consideration across a wider range of player abilities.

Overall, the Titleist GT4 driver stands out as a top performer in reducing spin rates and enhancing feel for players seeking a compact head design. The incorporation of innovative materials and technology, along with customizable weight options, makes the GT4 a versatile and appealing choice for golfers looking to improve their performance on the course. Despite minor criticisms of the sole design, the GT4 offers a unique blend of power, precision, and customization that sets it apart from other drivers in the market.
