The 124th U.S. Women’s Amateur is currently underway at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, featuring some of the best female amateur golfers in the world. While the top three players in the World Amateur Golf Ranking are not competing, numbers 4-6 and 8-10 are in the field, alongside seven more players in the top 25. The tournament is taking place on a course that hosted the 2022 PGA Championship, adding to the prestige of the event. Megan Schofill, the defending champion, is back to defend her title after winning last year’s tournament at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles.

One of the players to watch at the U.S. Women’s Amateur is Zoe Campos, a member of the UCLA Bruins and the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 4 in WAGR. She has also competed in the U.S. Women’s Open and was part of the Palmer Cup team in 2024. Catie Craig, who won the 2024 Women’s North & South Amateur, is another contender to keep an eye on. She also finished third in the Women’s Elite Amateur Golf Series earlier this year.

Gianna Clemente, a rising amateur in the game and a USGA champion, is another player to watch at the tournament. Despite being just 16 years old, she made the cut at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and finished in a tie for 5th place. Anna Davis, a standout player from Auburn University, has also had a successful amateur career, winning the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in 2022 and the Girls’ Junior Invitational at Sage Valley in 2023.

Jasmine Koo, an incoming freshman at USC, has impressed with her performance in junior events this summer, finishing as the runner-up at the U.S. Girls’ Junior. Rachel Kuehn, the 2023 NCAA champion from Wake Forest, is known for her competitive spirit and performance on the biggest stages. Rianne Malixi, fresh off a victory in the 2024 U.S. Girls’ Junior, is competing in her second USGA championship of the summer.

Kiara Romero, the winner of the 2023 U.S. Girls’ Junior, is also making a name for herself on the amateur circuit. Amanda Sambach, who has made the cut at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur for the past two years, is another player to watch at the U.S. Women’s Amateur. Bailey Shoemaker, who reached the Round of 16 in the 2023 U.S. Women’s Amateur and finished as the runner-up in the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur, rounds out the list of players to keep an eye on at the tournament.
